INFORMATION YOU'LL NEED TO PLAN A SHORT TERM MISSION TEAM

Dear Friend and Laborer,

We are excited that you are considering coming to visit us in Guatemala and share in our joy of spreading the Good News here in Central America. Following are some basic procedures and policies as well as answers to some questions generally asked about upcoming trips.

  1. In the past, Guatemala has experienced a lot of politically related problems. But since the signing of the Peace Accord, the government has made many positive changes and you can be at ease that your trip will be one of peace, safety and enjoyment. The team of Mike Black Ministries in the States and here in Guatemala will do everything we can to ensure that your mission trip will be from start to finish a successful and victorious adventure with the Lord.

  2. Each individual and/or group who comes will be uniquely arranged so the type of group, the activities planned and the purposes of the trip are fully considered and accomplished. From the time you make a decision to come until long after you have returned home, the Lord Jesus will be revealing many things to your heart. Whether you are coming to teach in the church, help construct the retreat facility or minister to children, begin to pray and ask the Lord for His steps to guide your trip. Come with a servant’s heart to be a blessing to others and God will ensure that you receive the biggest blessing of all.

  3. The price for a 7-day trip is $300.00 above your round trip airfare. All airfare, taxes, porters, etc. in the States will need to be arranged and purchased separately from Mike Black Ministries. Covered in the $300.00 will be the cost of housing, food, transportation and the project on which you will be working. Please note: each person will be responsible for bringing their own extra money for gifts or personal items as well as the exit tax from Guatemala which is $30.00.

  4. Each person will need a current United States passport.

  5. Each person will need a Hepatitis A shot, available in your local county health department.

  6. All drinking water will be bottled water and all food will be especially prepared so that it is free of any harmful bacteria.

  7. Housing is simple but clean and comfortable in a family setting.

  8. The 7-day trip will consist of 2 days of travel, 4 days of work and 1 day of tourism, shopping and a reflection dinner. We look very forward to your participation in the work here in Guatemala.

We will be happy to answer any additional questions and discuss a trip date with you.

Please contact Mike Black by phone or by email to let him know you would like to plan a trip.
